 PROJECT BRIEF

Kaytion was established in Guangzhou in 2016. It is a technology company providing visitor access control solutions mainly for real estate, in cooperation with their facial identification terminals and their native app Lianmin, a Saas platform providing access control and various location-based services. The company currently has 350,000 users in China.

As a Visual Designer, I worked with the team( product manager, devleloper, in-house designer) from April to June 2020 to create a campaign for promoting Lianmin’s new online mall features, an integrated online shopping model, combined with comprehensive location base service.

WHAT I DID
  • Worked with materials and research provided by in-house designer

  • Worked with product manager and designer to develop design

  • Createdprototype for testing by the team

  • Designed 2d motion graphic on Figma and After Effect

  • Presented design drafts and final deliverables to the team
  • Conducting adjustments based on the team’s feedback

    Research

The team has provided me with project background, user research, flow charts and style references. I work closely with the Product team to identify research objectives. We had analysed the video footage of various user scenario to understand how users interact with the service and evaluate the exsiting experience.

    FINAL USER FLOW

Push notification after visitors’ identity matched to stored data

The Lianmin advertising system is seamlessly implanted on the face recognition access control system. The horizontal banner stays at the bottom of the screen without interfering the facial recognition process.

Scanning QR Code to download the Lianmin app

Once the Visitor identity has been approved. the horizontal banner scales up to a full screen view which has a QR code featured in the centre of the screen. To keep users’ attention on the screen, we used a contrast colour combination and visual inspiration by ‘chunlian’ a traditional Chinese folk art form.

    Launching the Lianmin app

Seamlessly redirecting to the Download page of Lianmian app after user scans the QR code. Once launching the app, an motion animation banner with feature products appears. The animation carries the same visual style as the previous screen which provides a coherent experience to the users, in the meanwhile unified the Lianmin’s brand image across different devices.

    Motion graphics banner

To develop an integral experience, I have created a series of deliverables for using across different platforms and bussiness purposes.
